Peter Z Tawil, DMD, MS

After studying Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, Dr Tawil decided to pursue his interest in dentistry in 1999. He obtained his DMD at the Université de Montréal and his AEGD certificate at the University of Rochester. While completing his Masters in Endodontics at UNC Chapel Hill, Dr Tawil discovered his passion for saving the natural dentition. Upon completion of his studies, Dr Tawil worked as an endodontics specialist in several private practices, from Québec to North Carolina. Furthermore, he started an academic appointment at the University of North Carolina in 2011 where he progressed to become the Olmsted Family Distinguished Professor and the Director for Graduate Endodontics. He has over 60 publications with an emphasis on Endodontics & Periapical Micro-surgery.  


Outside of his professional work, Dr Tawil is a devoted serving of his communtiy. He co-founded the Montreal Homeless Street Youth Dental Clinic, started the Tawil Humanitarian dental fund at the Univeristy of North Carolina, and has shown unwavering commitment to his ongoing mission work in underdeveloped nations. Since 2011, he has served as the President of the TarHeel Endodontic Association which represents all the endodontists of the state of North Carolina. 


Dr. Tawil is a reviewer for several dental journals, as well as a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Board of Endodontics, the College of Diplomates, the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and the TarHeel Endodontic Association. He's been nominated yearly by his peers as one of the "Top Dentists" in the RTP triangle area since 2011.  He obtained his certification as Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists in 2008 and as Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2009.


In his spare time, Dr. Tawil enjoys spending time with his wife, his children as well as his hobbies such as tennis, golf, snowboarding, video gaming and traveling.

Haley D. Encarnacion

Lead Assistant & Office Manager

Haley is originally from Fort Myers, Florida. She moved to North Carolina with her family in 2007. She attended Wake Technical Community College and completed her Dental Assisting program in 2014. She has worked as an Endodontic dental assistant since her graduation and loves it! She started her journey working at the UNC School of Dentistry in the endodontics department, she advanced to became the lead endodontics assistant at the Faculty practice and joined Governors Endodontics since its opening in 2022.


When she is not working, she spends a lot of time with her family. She is the middle child in a family of five. Haley loves music, cooking and anything outdoors! 


Amy Bush

Dental Assistant DAII & Patient Care Coordinator

Amy joins our team with extensive dental assistant experience. She's been in our field for over 25 years. She has completed her advanced dental assistant training and has earned her DAII certification. 

She worked most of her career at the UNC dental school where she progressed to become the main dental assistant supervisor of the Faculty Practice. 


Amy and her husband Brian rescued 2 big fur babies that they cherish daily (Laci and Sadie Mae).  She loves spending time outdoors, especially at the beach.

Jackson T Seagroves, DDS, MS

Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics (In Progress)

A native of Chatham County, NC, Dr. Seagroves didn't have to travel far for his undergraduate degree in Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with honors and distinction. He continued his studies at UNC by earning his DDS degree with honors, graduating at the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA and receiving awards for scholarship and ethics. At the end of his dental school career he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. He became a Triple Tar Heel by completing graduate studies with a Master's degree and certificate in Endodontics at UNC, where he served as chief resident. In dental school and later in residency, he was mentored by Dr. Tawil and is fortunate for the opportunity to work closely with him at Governors Endodontics.


Outside of the office, Dr. Seagroves enjoys cooking, reading, and the outdoors. He and his wife are blessed and kept busy with a son and two dogs.
